Aron Canet’s Deal with Marc VDS reportedly includes World SBK Option
Aron Canet has signed a multi-year contract with Marc VDS starting in 2026. While the agreement primarily places him in moto 2, reports suggest that the deal also includes an option to step into World SBK.Should this option be activated, Aron Canet could bring his entire team to World SBK, competing on a Ducati with Marc VDS. In that scenario, he could potentially partner Sam Lowes, with the team expanding to run a second rider.

Jorge Martin says he is Back to his former Self
Jorge Martin made his third comeback from injury at the Czech GP. While he struggled during the Austrian round, his performance at the Hungarian GP on the Aprilia marked a big step forward.
Jorge Martin finished 4th in the full-length race at Balaton Park, his best result so far since returning, and afterwards declared that he finally feels like his old self again. As Martin explained.

Former Moto 2 Rider to make World SBK Debut during Testing
Sergio Garcia, who lost his Moto 2 seat midway through the 2025 season, recently returned to the grid as a replacement rider for the Intact GP Team during the Hungarian GP. Now, Garcia is set to make his first appearance in World SBK.
Sergio Garcia has received a call from HRC to replace the injured Iker Lecuona during testing at Aragon. Should the test go well, Garcia could also stand in for Lecuona at the next World Superbike round. However, this opportunity does not signal a full-time move to superbikes. Garcia has already signed a deal to return to Moto 2 in 2026 with Gresini Racing.

Pramac Yamaha set to Continue with Jack Miller in 2026
It has long been confirmed that Toprak Razgatlioglu will make his Moto GP debut with Pramac Yamaha in 2026. That left questions about which of the team’s current riders would lose their seat, with Miguel Oliveira now seemingly the one set to make way.
During the Hungarian GP, Pramac Yamaha and Jack Miller reportedly agreed on a new deal for the 2026 season. Miller had revealed that he had offers outside of Moto GP, which prompted Yamaha bosses to act quickly. Among those offers was an alleged deal with BMW to compete in World SBK. Another rider linked to the seat was Moto 2 championship leader Manuel Gonzalez, but Yamaha ultimately opted against it, influenced by Miller’s BMW offer and his experience with V4 engines technology that is expected to form the basis of Yamaha’s future bike development.
After more than 30 years, the Hungarian GP made its long-awaited return to the Moto GP calendar in 2025, with the brand-new Balaton Park Circuit hosting the event. Marc Marquez wrote history by becoming the first winner at the venue, triumphing in both the Sprint and the Full Race.
Marc Marquez had already set the fastest-ever lap around the track during qualifying. After a start to finish win in the Sprint, his Sunday win required a bit more work. After an early mistake and contact in the opening laps, he managed to regroup, control tyre wear, and build a decisive lead. As Marquez explained afterwards."I can't lie, I felt comfortable,‘ admitted the Balaton premiere winner. ’But we saw once again that anything can happen. I braked late into the first corner and was able to slow down well. But then I released the brakes again because I didn't know how Bezzecchi and another rider inside me would react. I turned late into the corner and knew I would lose the lead. But I preferred not to take the risk.

What happened in turn 2 was my mistake. It's always the case that the driver behind has to watch what the driver in front is doing. I didn't expect him to be so slow. I couldn't brake when leaning, and then there was contact. I tried to drive over the kerbs on the inside, but there was contact. We got away with it – that was a scary moment.
Then I tried to stay cool and paid attention to the wear on my rear tyre. I built up my race bit by bit, and when I was in the lead, I had good flow and a strong pace. Some Sundays, you struggle with the bike and the track and can't get a good lap time. Here, it was the other way around. I was even able to push a little harder on the last lap to understand where the limit is. My pace was right. It was a very good day, but it's not normal for me to win every weekend, to win every sprint. It looks that way, but it's not. The day will come when someone is faster than me. In that case, it will be smarter to take the points for second or third place for the championship."

Jorge Martin says the Financial aspect is always there, but it doesn’t move Him
Reigning World Champion Jorge Martin originally didn’t want to honor his contract with Aprilia for 2026. Martin had been working hard onsecuring a move to Honda, but that ultimately fell through. As of 2025, the Aprilia motorcycle is performing better than the Honda. Jorge Martin’s intention to leave Aprilia for Honda was reportedly linked to a significant financial offer.Recently, Jorge Martin addressed the topic of money, explaining that while finances are important, they’re not what truly motivate him.As Martin told. "No, the financial aspect will obviously always be there, it's always important, but it's not something that moves me. I've always tried to find the best sporting option; it's something my father taught me since I was little. When you get results, the financial aspect will follow. It wasn't what motivated me. What motivated me was what I believed was best for my future, and now I believe it's being here at Aprilia. Right now, seeing the work they've done and how the bike is performing, I'd be foolish not to strongly consider staying. In the end, that's what I’ve done—I’ve committed fully to fight again."

Reigning WorldSBK Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu is famous for his extraordinary riding style, particularly his ability to brake with incredible force a trademark that has earned him a reputation as one of the best late brakers in the sport. In 2026, Toprak Razgatlioglu will leave World SBK to join Moto GP with the Pramac Yamaha team. He arrives with huge hype and high expectations, but many are curious to see if his spectacular style will translate to the premier class.
Former Moto GP rider Danilo Petrucci believes that Toprak Razgatlioglu’s trademark braking approach will require significant adaptation due to the different demands of MotoGP machinery. As Petrucci told.
Former Moto GP rider says Toprak Razgatlioglu’s Braking Technique won’t work in Moto GP
"He will need some time to adjust. The motorcycles are very different, so the first few races will be difficult for him. The Michelin tyres and the Grand Prix chassis are very stiff; they don't give you much feedback. But that's just a matter of feeling. Toprak is one of the most talented riders I've ever met. Many of today's MotoGP riders think he will win races. I'll be cheering him on, he's a great guy! I'm glad he's getting the chance to show his potential in MotoGP.
That won't work on a MotoGP bike, he'll have to adjust his manoeuvres a little. But he has a lot of feeling in his fingers and incredible confidence in the front wheel. The problem is that on a MotoGP bike, you rarely feel the front wheel. Only sometimes can you brake while leaning, as is possible with Pirelli tyres. But he will learn that; he has so much talent and such great skills. In 2027, he will be backon Pirelli tyres, which may give him an advantage."

KTM savior Bajaj now facing production struggles themselves
Bajaj, the company credited with helping KTM avoid insolvency by investing capital and paying off creditors, is now facing its own financial challenges. Due to a shortage of parts for its electric vehicle program, Bajaj is set to miss its sales targets by at least 50%, as confirmed by Bajaj Chief Financial Officer Dinesh Thapar. As Thapar told."At this point in time, it looks like we might be able to deliver about 50%-60% of our (electric) two-wheeler plan for this quarter and about 70%-80% of the (electric) three-wheeler plan."
Trackhouse Team Manager says Yamaha and Honda have the know-how to return to the top
Trackhouse Aprilia Team Manager Davide Brivio, who has previously worked for both Yamaha and Suzuki, believes the Japanese factories still possess the expertise needed to fight at the front. As Brivio told.
"Personally, I don't see it that way. Of course, I don't have any direct insight into what's happening at Honda or Yamaha. They are experiencing some difficulties and are trying to acquire expertise in order to learn. But I can't imagine that Japanese engineers have forgotten how to build good motorcycles.Honda builds aircraft, they have a wind tunnel and many engineers. It's probably a question of organisation and structure. Ironically, the Japanese need help from the Italians to organise themselves better. It's a bit strange, but that's how it is. Honda and Yamaha don't lack technical knowledge or resources.
Ten or fifteen years ago, we worked differently. Now there are significantly more analysis tools. The software has been developed intensively, electronics have become increasingly important, as have aerodynamics and devices. There are many new features and gadgets.
The Japanese probably underestimated these things at the beginning. They have paid too little attention to these areas. European manufacturers have gained an advantage that the Japanese now have to catch up on. This process can be accelerated by hiring Italians who bring their experience with them."

Ducati reportedly planning Factory Spec Bikes for all their Rider in 2026

The 2026 MotoGP season will mark the final year of the 1000cc era, and Ducati is reportedly preparing to go all in by fielding six identical factory-spec bikes.
The 2026 machines are expected to be based on the GP25 a bike considered to have some flaws but with targeted upgrades. This would mean the factory Ducati Team, VR46, and Gresini Racing would all run identical machinery next season.

Jorge Martin launches his own Company
It has been a busy period for Jorge Martin, both on and off the track. Not only was the reigning World Champion in talks over a potential move to HRC, but he also used the summer break to launch his own business venture.
Jorge Martin is opening a gym called OnFit89, aimed at catering to professional athletes like himself. The facility will focus on both the physical conditioning and the mental well-being of its members, with the goal of helping athletes take care of both body and spirit.

Yamaha made a step forward in 2025 as Fabio Quartararo score a few Pole Positions and Podiums. This is a giant step forward compared tolast year.
Despite the raise of form, Yamaha is still not there as they want to be. As Team Director Paolo Pavesio told"It's undeniable that we're not yet where we want to be, because our goal is to get back to winning ways, but compared to last season, we've taken an important step forward. Having four bikes back on the grid with the arrival of the Prima Pramac team as a second factory team has been fundamental to our growth, as has having a junior team in Moto2. From this point of view, we're very satisfied with our work."

Pedro Acosta says he listened to VR46 Racing's offer out of Respect
Pedro Acosta was rumoured on leaving KTM and joing VR46 Racing for 2026. This however doesn't seem the case any more, as KTM have upped their game and Acosta seems more competitive.
Pedro Acosta recetnly talked about being approaced by VR46 and says that he listen to the offer but that out of respect. As Acosta told. "I believe that when someone comes to talk to you, you should always listen to them. Ultimately, when someone takes an interest in you, should listen to them out of respect, at the very least. We know that there is one brand that stands out above the rest. We know that there are six bikes on the track right now that are a step above the rest, and in the end, you always want to be on the best bike because that way it's more likely that you'll get results. But like I said, you always have to listen to people who come to talk to you."

The Technical Regulations will change for the 2027 Season and Ducati is determined on keepitheir dominance. While the 850cc Prototypeswill not be tested in 2025, they will be next year.Ducati's General Manager Gigi Dall'Igna says that Ducati needs focused on developing the last 1000cc and the 850cc bikes paralell in 2026. As Dall'Igna told. "We also need to keep an eye on 2026. The goal is to compete for the title again next year, and to do that, we will need to continue developing the existing motorcycle. So 2026 is going to be a very intense year. We will be working simultaneously on the 2026 model and the completely new machine for 2027. It is therefore necessary to work with two riders in testing from next season onwards. Michele Pirro's commitment is beyond question.
With his experience, he remains an important force. We have also created the conditions in good time to deploy Nicolo (Bulega). He will also be available for the MotoGP project from 2026 onwards. As things stand today, we are planning an initial shakedown with the 2027 machine at the beginning of 2026, and I think Michele will supervise the first test as a pilot."

Pecco Bagnaia lost his 'mind' the first Day that Marc Marquez came to the Factroy Ducati Team says Riders Manager

Marc Marquez was promoted to the Factory Ducati Team for 2025 under many criticism. The decision however payed off as Marquez is superbly leading the Championship before the summer break.
Pecco Bagnaia is struggling on being competitive with his teammate and has even troubles keeping up with Alex Marquez over in the GresiniTeam. This has a reason according to Riders Manager Carlos Pernat that says that Bagnaia lost his 'mind' the first day Marquez came in tothe Factroy Team. As Pernat told. I had said that, in my opinion, he had a slight advantage over Bagnaia. Because he knew the Ducatis, the engineers, the team. I didn't consider two things. Marc Márquez's strength, because I had physical doubts, especially.
As a phenomenon, what can you say? Anyone who says he's not a phenomenon doesn't understand anything about motorcycles, but we always said that in the old days too. The problem was physical. He was in hell, but in a big hell, he got out of hell, as he did, only he could do it, he went to Purgatory. Purgatory was Gresini. Then he went to Paradise, which is the red Ducati. These are the three stages. To have gotten out of this hell, another one, in my opinion, no one else could have done it. His strength is incredible.
In addition to this, Bagnaia's head believed he was much stronger. He believed that Pecco would not suffer so much, from the moment it was officially decided to put Márquez there, that he would suffer so much. From the first day they put Márquez there and from the first day of testing that I saw there, in my opinion, his head went."

Diogo Moreira set for Honda LCR move in 2026
Diogo Moreira’s impressive 2025 Moto 2 campaign has made him one of the hottest prospects on the grid. The Brazilian talent has established himself in the title fight, and his time in Moto 2 looks to be coming to an end.Diogo Moreira received interest from both Yamaha and Honda satellite squads. However, it now appears likely that he will sign with LCR Honda for 2026, taking the place of Somkiat Chantra. The decision has reportedly created tension with title sponsor Idemitsu, who have long pushed for an Asian rider in the seat.
Diogo Moreira is said to be negotiating firmly, with two conditions: a factory-spec bike and a long-term contract that will allow him to properly establish himself in Moto GP.
The Austrian GP 2025 marked the debut of Moto GP’s new Stability Control system, designed to further reduce the risk of high-sides through engine management. While the feature was introduced with rider safety in mind, it immediately drew criticism from fans and riders who argued it removes another element of rider skill.Moto GP Technical Director Corrado Cecchinelli disagrees with that view, insisting the new system does not diminish rider talent but rather highlights it further. As Cecchinelli explained:
"I would not argue because it’s an opinion and it’s their right to have one. I can only say that, for us, the issue of safety is always there and we always feel the obligation to do anything we can for safety, whereas other issues come second. Among these other issues [is]maybe masking the value of the rider. Honestly, do we have a problem of rider ability equalisation? I don’t think so, unfortunately. Let me say unfortunately."
Moto GP Technical Boss counters Stability Control criticism

KTM’s long-running partnership with Red Bull could be coming to an end. The multi-million sponsorship deal is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2025 season, and according to reports, it may not be renewed. One of the key factors behind the potential split is the arrival of Gunther Steiner at the Tech3 team. Steiner had a complicated history with former Red Bull founder Didi Mateschitz, with sponsorship disagreements in the past leaving relations strained. Now, Red Bull appears to be shifting its focus toward Honda, where Team Boss Alberto Puig maintains strong ties with the energy drink giant. If the switch materialises, it would not come as a surprise to the paddock.

Marc Marquez doesn’t like the new Stability Control
The new Stability Control system, introduced at the Austrian GP 2025, has received mixed reactions across the paddock. While some riders and teams welcome the feature for its added safety, others feel it reduces the influence of rider skill.Among the critics is Marc Marquez, who believes the electronics make the bike too easy to ride and diminish the rider’s role in performance. As Marquez explained."For me, it’s clear the more things you introduce on the bike, in this case electronics, the less difference the rider can make. So I tested this new control in Aragon and also in Malaysia and it's just easier to ride. You can be against [rely on] the control and the bike is doing everything, so as a rider, I don’t like it. If it’s safety or not, in the end, every manufacturer has a different point of view."

Eafter his spell in Moto GP, Iker Lecuona moved to World SBK with Honda, joining the factory team in 2022. His stint with the Japanese manufacturer is set to come to an end after the 2025 season.
According to reports, Lecuona will replace Alvaro Bautista in the Factory Ducati Team for 2026. The Spaniard has apparently signed a
one-year deal, which positions him as an interim solution while Ducati continues to plan for its longer-term rider strategy.

Fabio Di Giannantonio say
Pecco Bagnaia’s Problems are not Bike Related
With the arrival of Marc Marquez in the Factory Ducati Team for 2025, it has become increasingly clear that Pecco Bagnaia is struggling morethan in previous years. While Bagnaia often points to the bike as the source of his issues, not everyone agrees with that assessment. One of them is Fabio Di Giannantonio, who was asked if Bagnaia’s problems were indeed bike-related. His response was"There are small differences. But it's the drivers who make the biggest difference. I am driving at least one second faster in every race than I did last year."

Profit distribution has become one of the hottest topics in Moto GP following the arrival of Liberty Media as the sport’s new owners. The manufacturers are pushing for a bigger share of revenue, but Liberty just like Dorna before is firmly against the idea. Among the requests from the factories was the possibility to purchase grid slots, something Liberty has also rejected. At present, only the satellite teams, who lease their bikes from the manufacturers, receive a fixed payment. Factory-backed teams remain excluded. The manufacturers argue that under Liberty’s leadership, revenue should be distributed based on results, similar to Formula 1’s Concorde Agreement. With most contracts set to expire at the end of the 2026 season, the next two years will be decisive in determining whether the factories and Moto GP’s operating body can reach a compromise.

Jorge Martin says Valentino Rossi is the Biggest Star Ever, but Marc Marquez is the Most Talented
With Marc Marquez on track to equal his long-time rival Valentino Rossi in overall world championships in 2025, the debate about who is the greatest rider of all time is once again heating up. While many already consider Marquez on par with Rossi, others see their legacies in different ways.
Jorge Martin has given his own view on the subject, stressing that Rossi and Marquez represent greatness in two very distinct forms. As Martin explained:"I believe that Rossi is the greatest of all time overall, as a figure and as an icon he is the greatest. And in terms of riding, to date, there has been no rider like Marc Márquez in terms of riding and talent. Having the challenge of being able to measure myself against someone like that already shows me what I can become, so that's what I have in mind and what I'm going for."

Since their withdrawal from Moto GP, Suzuki has shifted its focus towards renewable and sustainable projects. One of their key initiatives is the Suzuki CN Challenge, a program that promotes carbon-neutral technology through eco-friendly parts and fuels.
At the Suzuka 8 Hours 2025, Suzuki surprised fans by unveiling a miniature electric replica of the GSX-R. The concept reflects the brand’s future vision of cleaner mobility while maintaining the racing DNA of its iconic machines.
However, Suzuki clarified that there are currently no plans to bring the electric mini bike into series production, positioning it instead as a showcase of their technological direction.

Joan Mir believe he is wasting the best years on his Career
After Suzuki’s sudden withdrawal at the end of the 2022 season, Joan Mir was recruited by Honda with the hope of helping the team return to competitiveness. However, Mir has struggled to adapt to the bike and has been unable to replicate the success he once enjoyed with Suzuki.
By 2025, with Honda still uncompetitive, Mir admits he feels his prime years are slipping away. As Mir explained:"I feel like I'm wasting valuable years of my career. I don't know if they're the best years, but they're certainly very valuable. The other day I heard Alonso say that he wasn't going to last long in F1, and he's still there. So you never know. But this level of stress, of everything, is difficult to cope with over many years. In 2023 or 2024, there were moments when I said, ‘I can't take it anymore.’
And look, here I am, pushing harder than ever. That gives me strength. If I've been through all that before, this isn't going to stop me."

Jonathan Rea Rejected by Multiple Teams for the 2026
It has become clear that multiple-time World SBK Champion Jonathan Rea will lose his factory Yamaha seat at the end of 2025. In an attempt to secure his future, Rea has reportedly approached several teams — but has been met with rejection. The factory Ducati, Honda, and BMW squads have all allegedly turned down the six-time champion. With factory opportunities now closed,Rea shifted his focus to satellite teams. However, Barni Ducati has already rejected him, while Go Eleven Ducati is also expected to pass due to the high financial demands involved.

After winning the World SBK titles in 2022 and 2023, Alvaro Bautista was effectively punished for his dominance with the introduction of the minimum weight rule in 2024. The regulation has impacted Bautista more than anyone else, leaving him struggling to remain competitive.
Bautista strongly criticizes the rule, calling it “stupid” and claiming it puts his safety at risk.As Bautista explained.
"Why? Because I'm tiny? Is that why I have to risk my life more than others? Well, it doesn't seem logical to me. I'm not against the Federation, neither Dorna nor SBK. I support them and I am very happy with all the security work they do. This is simply that we take a step further, to improve safety."

Alvaro Bautista Set to Continue with Ducati, but Not in the Factory Team
Alvaro Bautista’s contract with the factory Ducati team will expire at the end of the 2025 season. With Ducati promoting Iker Lecuona into the factory squad, Bautista is set to lose his seat — but not his place within the Ducati family.
According to reports, Bautista is expected to sign with Barni Ducati for the 2026 season, ensuring his career continues despite stepping away from factory machinery.
Barni Ducati had also been linked with Jonathan Rea and Iker Lecuona for 2026, with outgoing rider Danilo Petrucci (moving to BMW) even recommending them as potential replacements. However, it now appears that neither rider will join the team, as Bautista is the favorite to secure the seat.

Michael van der Mark Set to Lose BMW Factory Seat for 2026
BMW looks set to field an all-new rider line-up for the 2026 World SBK season. One change has already been confirmed, with Danilo
Petrucci replacing Toprak Razgatlioglu. The second rider has yet to be officially announced, but it is unlikely to be Michael van der Mark.
Van der Mark’s departure was all but confirmed by his manager, who admitted that they are already exploring opportunities outside of BMW."There are still a few possibilities in WSBK, but at the moment we are also looking elsewhere and holding talks about this. It's too early to go into detail."
